eat, drink and be scary.

Post trick or treating, my Halloween experiences were never very good. Plans always fell through, and I wound up disappointed and watching Halloween 4 by myself. So this year, I was determined to have a great Halloween. Even though things didn't entirely go as planned, I had a lot of fun! I dressed up as a zombie bride on Saturday, and Hello Kitty on Sunday. I love getting dressed up....I almost wish it could be Halloween more often. Here is a closer look at my Halloween costumes from this year.

and nobody knows what's gonna happen tomorrow, so don't let go, now we've come this far.

Last night was one of those rare evenings where everything felt right in the world. I headed downtown to see Duran Duran in concert. Alone. When I bought the tickets, no one I knew wanted to go with me. Instead of missing out on seeing them AGAIN, I just went for it and bought a single ticket. Before the show, and after the opening act, I just read a book and waited. It was kind of lovely. And then I saw Duran Duran perform live. After watching the concert DVD endlessly, I finally was seeing Simon Le Bon IN REAL LIFE. It was such a thrilling experience.

love it or leave it?

The always beautiful Emma Roberts wore this last week at an event. I was immediately struck by this outfit. I love the sheer black collar mixed with that gorgeous metallic dress! I think the combination is simply stunning! I only wish there had been a belt to break things up a bit. Her hair and makeup are flawless - simple and elegant, and they really allow the dress to be showcased.

the secret to staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.

My apologies that I have been neglecting blog stuff for the last few days - this weekend was my birthday weekend. My birthday was actually yesterday, so I saw my boyfriend Saturday morning, then headed down to Toronto with a couple of my best friends. We got a hotel for the night and went out to a gay bar! It was so much fun. Then on Sunday, we did a family dinner. I am a twin, so we were celebrating two birthdays.

makeup tutorial: cassie blake (the secret circle)

Let me cut to the chase: "The Secret Circle" is awesome.

From the first episode, I have been hooked. It is quickly becoming one of my favourite new shows! Every episode I watch, I am always in love with main character, Cassie's makeup. It is simple, wearable, but so pretty. So, I decided to do a quick tutorial on it! This look is really easy to do, but very pretty.

new makeup post!

Over the last little while, I have been trying not to buy new makeup, except what I actually need....I think that lasted for about three days. The problem is that I love trying out new products. There is something beautiful in trying something out, falling in love, and adding it to your makeup collection. Here are some of the things I've been trying out recently.

i have always wanted my colours to sing.

Victoria Justice is quickly becoming a fashion icon. I love her bold, feminine, red carpet style. At the Footloose premiere, she wore this absolutely stunning dress. I just love the colour combination and the cut-outs. This dress is mature, but still really fun and pretty. Take a look and let me know what you think of this red carpet gown.

new nail polish and tag post.

Hi everyone, I hope your weekends went well! Mine was good and bad. I opened at work both days, so that wasn't great, but I also got to see some amazing people. Speaking of work, one of the things I hate the most, is that I'm not allowed to paint my nails. So when I went away, I was determined to make the most of this opportunity! I bought this really pretty greenish-blue colour. What do you think?

music post: vacation edition!

I love British pop music. I don't know when it started exactly, but over the years, it has taken over my CD collection. (At least half of my CDs have been imported!) When I was in high school, there was this specialty channel that used to play episodes of Top Of The Pops. I remember on the first episode I watched, Gareth Gates was number one with "Anyone Of Us (Stupid Mistake)." I immediately fell in love, and scoured the room for a pen so I could write down his name. After the show ended, I Googled him and imported every single he had released.

shopping haul: vacation edition!

Since returning home, I never seem to have enough time to get things done. Which is why it has taken me a bit of time to get this posted. My apologies! Coming home from London/Paris, my suitcase was heavy. It was way over the weight limit, but they let it slide, thank goodness! Shopping in London is just the greatest thing ever. I bought a fair amount of new clothes, and a bunch of new shoes! They are from various places, but mostly New Look, Primark (love love love), TopShop and Forever21. Here are some of the things I picked up while I was away.

vacation pictures!

As you all know, I recently got back from visiting London and Paris! Since getting back to Canada, I have been trying to catch up on a million different things - the price of going away! I have a lot to share about my trip, which I will do throughout the week. But to start with, here are some of the pictures I took. We spent a week in London, where I did an awful lot of shopping. I've been to London many times before, so most of the tourist stuff, I had already done. Basically, I shopped, went to Kensington Gardens, Camden Town, and went and saw a couple of British singers that I love. (More on that in another post!) The weather was lovely and sunny, which was great.

we should come home from adventures...with new experience and character.

After an amazing week and a half of vacation, I am back home. Personally, I detest returning from holidays - it is inevitable, sadly! Getting back into routine and catching up on what you missed seems almost impossible. I had a fantastic time in London and Paris - regular old home just doesn't seem to match up at the moment. Over the next week or so, I'll be filling you all in on my trip, so look out for that.
